Spring 2008 Results:

Overall Record 18 Wins - 15 Losses - 2 Gold & 3 Silver Medals

Junior Wildcats Lobster Cup
- The team had a great start to the 2008 Spring Season. They finished with a 3-2 record overall in the event. The team easily defeated the Junior Wildcats in its opener 9-0, followed that up with a lopsided 10-5 win over the NS Selects and earned its other win over the Cape Breton Fire by a score of 11-2. The two defeats came at the hands of a very good PEI Riptide team by scores of 4-3 in a round-robin thriller and 8-1 in the Championship game. Congratulations on the Silver Medal!!

V-Red Challenge Cup - The team had another great tournament, finishing with another 3-2 record overall in the event. They started with a split-squad 6-1 victory over the Portland Top Dogs then dropped a 7-2 decision to the NS Prospects on Friday. On Saturday the team dominated, but held on for a 3-2 win over Target Force and a 4-2 win over the Junior Wildcats. This set up a Championship re-match with the NS Prospects in which the team held the early edge but fell short in a closer game than the scoreboard showed at 6-2. Congratulations on the Silver Medal!!

Bluewater Classic - This event had some very strong teams and the V-Reds showed great improvement and character in competing very hard. Friday saw the team incur losses to the PEI Extreme and NS Raiders by scores of 7-2 and 9-1. However, the team rebounded on Saturday with a moral victory in a 1-0 loss to the NB Stars and were unfortunate in losing a 4-2 decision to the Junior X-Men in a tightly contested match.

Bulldog Challenge Cup - Again, this tournament had some great teams and we ran into some stiff competition, playing 2 of the top 4 teams and finishing with another 0-4 record overall in the event. The team battled hard every game and had some closer contests than the scoreboard showed. They started with a tough 3-1 loss to the Wild, dropped a 6-1 decision to the Rocket River-Nord, an 8-0 decision to Performe Plus and a 9-0 decision to the Bulldog River Dogs.

Atlantic Top Prospects Challenge - The team had a great tournament, carrying the play in every game despite opening with 2 losses. In doing so, the team showed great character in rebounding for 3 straight wins to capture the gold. Friday saw the team incur losses to the NS Selects and NS Top Prospects by scores of 3-2 and 5-1. The team rebounded on Saturday with 2 wins over the Target T-Force 4-3 and again in the semi-final 4-2. They saved the best for last with a victory over the NS Top Prospects, 2-1 in the final to capture the gold on their home ice. Patrick Pellerin was named the tourney MVP and Adam McCormick the tourney's best defenseman. Congratulations on the gold boys!!

North American Summer Championships - The team had a terrific weekend, finishing the event with a perfect 5-0 record. On Friday the team opened with a dominating 5-0 win over the Connecticut Rangers and a hard fought 3-2 win over the Long Island Ducks. On Saturday the team finished the round-robin with another convincing 5-0 win over the Boston Selects. In Sunday's semi-final the team steam-rolled the Boston Selects 8-0 to advance to the final. The final game was a very physical one, and the boys earned a well-deserved 3-2 win over a very spirited Long Island Ducks squad. In so doing, the team earned its 2nd gold in as many weekends and stretched its unbeaten streak to 8 games. Congratulations on another gold boys!!

AAA Maine Lobster Fest - The team capped the season with an excellent weekend in Portland, finishing with a 4-1 record. On Friday the team opened with a convincing 8-1 win over Portland Top Dogs and a hard fought 8-7 win over the New England Predators. On Saturday the team closed the round-robin with a dominating 8-1 win over the Valley Jr. Cats and capped the day with a thrilling 6-5 semi-final win over the Massachusetts Young Guns. In the final the team had to settle for Silver when they ran into a very good Chicago Cougars team that ended the 12 game win streak, 7-1. Congratulations on another Silver boys!!
